Andrew is an award winning, highly qualified Podiatrist with over 30 years clinical experience spanning 3 countries, namely South Africa, United Kingdom & Australia. He received the Student of the Year Award for excellence in academic performance in his final year. He is competent in all facets of Podiatry with a special emphasis on nail surgery for ingrown toenails, and is currently in Private practice in Lilydale.

Andrew has been involved in a variety of establishments & practices over his career. These include work within one of South Africa's largest Military Hospitals, military camps, military amputee clinic, Endocrine Centre of Excellence, Community Health Centres, Sports Injury/Sports Medicine Centres, Diabetes Clinics, Chronic Wound Clinics, Paediatric Clinic, Hospitals, Multiple Disciplinary Clinics, and private practice.

Andrew is dedicated to his profession, and shows genuine empathy with, and concerns for all of his patients. He doesn't believe in rushing through appointments & procedures, provides quality time and will make you feel immediately relaxed.

Jardine Podiatry initially commenced in South Africa at the end of 1992 after Andrew completed his 6 year military career in the South African Defence force (SADF). He was Head of podiatry within The Orthopaedic O.P.D for 4 years at 1 Military Hospital, and spent every Friday working in the Day Theatre performing surgical procedures to remove severe ingrown toenails. The surgical list was booked up for 12 weeks in advance.

After resigning from the military late 1992, Andrew established Jardine Podiatry in South Africa, and in addition to his private practice , he also established & attended satellite clinics at various medical centres. Andrew received a large amount of referrals from surrounding General Practitioners for surgical management of ingrown toenails.

He worked in the UK throughout England/Wales (incl. Oxford & Cambridge and Oxford), in many positions within the NHS and in the private sector (1999-2000) before migrating to Australia in 2001.

Andrew was presented with the Student of The Year Award for excellence in academic performance in his final year. Upon Qualifying, he was drafted into a 2 year compulsory National Service in the SADF. After 6 months of basic training, Andrew was sent to work at 1 Military Hospital near Pretoria, where he worked in the podiatry Department within Orthopaedic Out Patients Department. Within a further 6 months he was promoted to Lance Corporal (L/Cpl. and a year later became a full Lieutenant and Head of Podiatry.

Andrew joined the military in a permanent force capacity, where he remained for a total of 6 years. He was the only podiatrist employed in the entire SADF in a permanent capacity from 1988-1992. At times Andrew managed the Podiatry Clinic and the manufacture of orthotics on his own, sometimes for periods of up to 18 months, as there were no other newly graduated podiatrists available during certain times. He started several satellite clinics at other military camps and worked closely with the military doctors, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Foot & Ankle Surgeons, Dermatologists as well as orthotists/prosthetists and physiotherapists in the amputee & rehabilitation clinics. The Podiatry clinic was always solidly booked for 12 weeks in advance.

During his military career, Andrew captained the South African Medical Services (SAMS) Soccer team from 1988-1992, and represented Northern Transvaal Defence Soccer Team in a provincial level from 1990-1992. He was the first aider for the Defence Soccer Team during these years, and also participated in competitive combat shooting and running.

After resigning from the military late 1992, Andrew established Jardine Podiatry, and in addition to his private practice , he also established & attended satellite clinics at various medical centres. Andrew later completed a B.Sc.(Hons.) Pod through Brighton University, UK and researched Hallux Abductovalgus/ bunions in children & teenagers "The Prevalence of Juvenile HAV "

He worked throughout England/Wales (incl Cambridge and Oxford), in many positions within the NHS and in the private sector (1999-2000) before migrating to Australia in 2001. Since Andrew arrived in Melbourne in 2001, he has worked in various roles, including several Community Health Centres, Sports Medicine Centres & Diabetes Clinics. He was part of the Paediatric Team at Darebin Community Health and spent time on health promotion working on the Young Refugee Soccer Team Group.

Andrew was later accepted to assist in a challenging role at the Endocrine Centre of Excellence, Austin Health, where he worked with several professors. The research (over a 2 year period) involved stimulation of peripheral nerves for people with Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy.

The research position also opened up another "challenging "doorway" where Andrew became involved in more research at The Chronic Wound Clinic at Austin Health. Oxygen levels around wounds were measured to determine the healing rate of wounds. Andrew was later selected as consultant Podiatrist at The Chronic Wound Clinic, where he works with wound consultants and specialist nurses for over 10 years every Thursday.

Andrew is one of the very few Podiatrists in Australia that trained to operate SONOCA, which is low frequency ultrasonic debridement of chronic wounds. These procedures were performed at The Chronic Wound Clinic.

Jardine Podiatry opened in Melbourne in early 2004, initially on a part-time basis. Andrew now spends most days at his clinic in Lilydale, treating people of all ages from the Yarra Valley and surrounding suburbs, including Ringwood.

Andrew has so far spent over 5 years working at Sports Medicine/Sports Injury Clinics in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. A large portion of his military career dealt with biomechanical related problems, where he forged close ties with Sports Physiotherapists, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthotists & Dermatologists. He started several satellite clinics at other military camps and worked closely with military orthotist/prosthetists in the amputee clinic
